About Elissa

Lee is a doctoral candidate in occupational therapy at the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy; at the Lifestyle Redesign for Chronic Conditions lab. Overarching themes in Lee’s work include chronic care management; the lack of access to healthcare; and the impact of chronic conditions in medically underserved populations. Lee was named for her work as a Student Innovator by the Gehr Family Center for Health Systems Science in 2018.
Lee serves as project coordinator for Uncovered California at the Center for Health Journalism. Lee also contributes to the Children’s Health Matters blog; additionally Lee covers mental health and social good at Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.
Lee is a graduate of UC Berkeley; with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a double minor in disability studies and dance and performance studies. Prior to graduate school; Lee served as program coordinator for Too Small to Fail; a national campaign promoting the importance of early brain and language development in children ages 0-5.
