Sophia Winner

Sophia joined SSN as a Voting & Elections Intern in June 2024, and currently serves as the organization’s Policy Intern. In this role, Sophia is primarily responsible for conducting policy research and helping connect scholars to policymakers and civic organizations at all levels of government.

Sophia is a senior at the University of Maryland pursuing a Dual Degree in Government & Politics and Economics, with a minor in Law & Society. Upon graduation, she hopes to advance policy initiatives that both uplift and empower historically disenfranchised communities. In addition to her time with SSN, Sophia interns for Governor Wes Moore’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy, and serves as a Sustainability Researcher for her school.
