About Justine

Modica's research focuses on the history of child care as a labor issue in the late 20th century United States. She writes on gender, race, class, citizenship, and care work. The overarching questions that animate her scholarship are how corporations, policymakers, and other social actors have wrung profit from love and how care workers have contested the undervaluation of their labor.
