About Caroline
Compton's work examines displacement, relocation, and legal complexity following natural disaster. She received an Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship to undertake her fieldwork in the Visayas region of the Philippines. Caroline has held visiting appointments at the Institute of Philippine Culture, Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines) and the Centre for Social Studies, Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal). Prior to commencing her studies at the ANU, Caroline spent several years working on human migration and development projects in Vietnam. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) (UNSW), Master of Education (UTS), Juris Doctor (Hons), and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP).
