About Gene
Corbin's research focuses on civic learning in higher education with an interest in critical forms that prepare students for democratic engagement in a diverse society. Overarching themes in Corbin's writings include the public purpose of higher education, community engagement as a strategy for educational equity and faculty diversity in higher education, and the importance of civic learning in higher education for democracy. Corbin also teaches courses in communication for social change and for incarcerated person with the Tufts University Prison Initiative at Tisch (TUPIT).
