Publications

"The Impact of Acculturation and Personal Discrimination on Latinx Public Opinion" (with J. Robert Shrode). Social Science Quarterly 105, no. 5 (2024): 1634-1648.

Looks at how acculturation (how connected Latino people feel to mainstream U.S. culture) and experiences with discrimination shape political attitudes among Latinos in the United States. Finds that personal experiences with discrimination tend to increase support for policies aimed at reducing inequality and discrimination, while acculturation can weaken those effects by encouraging closer alignment with broader U.S. political norms.
