Irene Mata

Mata studies Latinx Literature and Culture through an intersectional lens that privileges the stories of marginalized voices. Mata's interdisciplinary framework analyzes immigration and labor and how it is represented in contemporary cultural production. Mata's work also focuses on US social movements of the past and how they are invoked and built upon by the current movement of resistance in the Chicanx/Latinx community.
