About Jenny

Bratburd is a researcher and science communicator focused on intersections between health, air pollution, and climate change. Bratburd serves as the Outreach Program Manager for the NASA Health and Air Quality Applied Sciences Team (HAQAST), which connects NASA data, particularly satellite data, with real world health and air quality problems. Bratburd has also served as consultant with the National Academies of Sciences, working on the health benefits and risks of climate change related to decarbonization policies. Themes of her work include communication of health impacts of environmental policies.

Describes recent updates to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s AirNow system, integrating the use of fused air quality data products that will ultimately allow decision-makers and the public to make informed choices to protect health and better understand their local air quality.
