About Kristin
Kibler's research focuses on improving outcomes for adolescent students from groups that have historically been minoritized and marginalized in the U.S. educational system. Her research also includes students with dis/abilities; migrant and refugee students; and other culturally and linguistically diverse youth. Overarching themes in Kibler's writing center around utilizing multicultural education and its social justice tenets to increase literacy skills and advocating for and supporting public school teachers and their students. Kibler is an active member of the American Educational Research Association; the National Association for Multicultural Education; and TESOL International. She recently served as the chair-elect for the Refugee Concerns Interest Section in TESOL International from 2020-2021.
