About Laura

Lindberg's research focuses on sexual and reproductive health in the United States. Overarching themes include adolescent SRH, abortion access, sex education and midwifery as a birth justice issue, and survey research and design. She is an expert on abortion access in New Jersey. Lindberg consults with multiple community-based organizations in New Jersey and serves as a technical advisor to state and national survey efforts.

Analyzes whether U.S. adolescents and young adults are receiving person-centered contraceptive counseling (PCCC). Demonstrates that receipt of PCCC was positively associated with preferred method use among adolescents.

"Implications of Abortion Restrictions for Adolescents" (with Julie Maslowsky and Paz Baum). JAMA Pediatrics 179, no. 6 (2025): 675-676.

Explores the scope of post-Dobbs abortion policy changes across states for adolescents. Finds that methods adults use to circumvent geographic restrictions are less accessible to adolescents due to cost and logistical barriers, leaving them disproportionately affected by such restrictions.
