Monique Anair

Anair conducts mixed method research to study the experiences and outcomes of New Mexico community college students enrolled in non-credit postsecondary education programs. Overarching themes in Anair’s research include the impact of poverty on bachelor’s degree attainment in New Mexico, hidden implications of state and federal policies, qualitative experiences of students navigating current postsecondary systems, and mechanisms that impact socioeconomic equality. Anair serves as a board member for early college charter high schools and workforce advisory boards in New Mexico and Washington, and teaches at the University of New Mexico.
