Ethan Stein

Ethan Stein is the Director of Chapters at the Scholars Strategy Network, where he works with scholars across the country to strengthen chapter leadership and connect research to public life. His work focuses on building relationships between researchers, policymakers, and civic leaders so that scholarship can play a more direct role in shaping policy and public debate.

Ethan’s background is in community organizing, including leading a housing campaign in Philadelphia that brought together residents and elected officials to address affordability through the city’s budget process. Across his work, he has been driven by a focus on education, both in the classroom and beyond it, as a foundation for developing critical thinking and expanding opportunity.

He previously taught high school students and remains committed to strengthening public education systems so that all young people have a meaningful chance to learn, participate, and thrive. Ethan holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Rutgers University–New Brunswick and is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
