Kentucky’s top law enforcement official, Attorney General Russell Coleman, is supporting a dangerous federal policy — one that could lead to U.S. citizens being deported without so much as a hearing.

That may sound laughable, even impossible. After all, deporting a U.S. citizen is clearly unconstitutional. Yet, based on the federal government’s own statements in court, there remain substantial concerns that you — the person reading this article — could be disappeared without any way to fight back. Frighteningly, Kentucky’s own attorney general has signed on to a legal brief supporting this effort.

This isn’t hypothetical. Studentslawful permanent residents and even naturalized citizens have already been targeted by the Trump administration. These actions are paving the way for reduced rights for everyone, including citizens in Kentucky.
