About Elizabeth
Van Alstine’s research centers on at-risk youth and their caregivers, factors influencing behavioral health treatment access, and the development and evaluation of clinical interventions. An overarching theme in her work is equitable access to quality treatments for diverse populations. She serves several youth-serving non-profits to create and disseminate programs and resources around teen health and civic engagement. Van Alstine provides advocacy and education on meaningful youth engagement for organizations. She has presented to national and international organizations including the League of Women Voters U.S., the World Anti-Bullying Forum, and the US Forest Service.
