About Sara

Dr. Bybee leads a research team involved in multiple extramurally funded projects, including a recently funded National Institutes on Aging R01 to develop a measure of financial hardship for LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ persons living with dementia and their care contributors. She aims to lead a program of research into the structural determinants of health disproportionately affecting historically marginalized populations in the context of chronic illness. Dr. Bybee received her master’s of social work from Portland State University and her PhD in nursing from the University of Utah.
