Savitri Elizabeth Arvey

Arvey's work focuses on the U.S.-Mexico border; U.S. asylum and immigration policy; and Mexico's migratory policy. Arvey has conducted research on the termination of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s safe release policy and local responses; Customs and Border Protection’s practice of metering and asylum seeker wait lists; and Mexico’s reintegration policy for individuals deported from the U.S. Arvey helped to organize the Border Health Humanitarian Summit that brought together over 70 experts across various sectors will chart concrete steps toward short-; medium- and long-term solutions to the the humanitarian crisis at the border and avenues to protect the human rights and dignity of migrant populations. Arvey has volunteered at the San Diego Rapid Response Migrant Shelter; FM4 Paso Libre Migrant Shelter in Guadalajara and as a Migrant Protection Protocol Court Observer.
