2025 Education Scholars Training Program

2025 ESTP Cohort Accomplishments

During the 2025 cohort year, Education Scholars Training Program (ESTP) scholars advanced their policy engagement through a wide range of activities. Through monthly virtual trainings, scholars built skills to translate academic research into actionable policy insights. They applied these skills in meetings with U.S. Congressional Representatives and Senators, as well as through engagement with state legislators in Florida, Arizona, Massachusetts, and beyond.

In addition to direct meetings, scholars participated in formal policy processes, including speaking at a public hearing convened by the U.S. Department of Education and contributing to multiple written public comment opportunities at the federal level. Scholars also supported policymaking by reviewing proposed state legislation and providing research-informed feedback. Scholars further distilled their research through published op-eds, policy briefs, and fact sheets shared with policymakers. Learn how ESTP supports scholars in bridging research and policy here.
