Bio: Vargas studies the effects of poverty and inequality on the quality of life of Americans, focusing specifically on health disparities and social policy, and how these factors contribute to the well- being of vulnerable families. Among vulnerable populations, Vargas focuses primarily on social inequalities that impact the health and well-being outcomes of racial and ethnic minority communities, with a primary focus on Latino Americans. Vargas also advances the measurement approaches within quantitative methods for the wider field interested in race, ethnicity and health outcomes.
