About Curtis
Williams’ research focuses on issues that intersect both education and criminal justice policy, specifically the school-to-prison pipeline. He is particularly interested in the ways in which disparities along the lines of race and gender are perpetuated by punitive disciplinary practices. Williams has also been involved in youth development and advocacy for a number of years. He is a former facilitator for the Cumberland County Positive Youth Development Coalition and a member of Youth Justice New Jersey. Both organizations work towards reducing juvenile arrests and reforming the juvenile justice system in New Jersey.
