About Kristina

Brant’s research focuses on the family and community dimensions of substance use. Overarching themes in Brant’s writings include the impacts of kinship care policy on family dynamics and parents’ recovery from substance use disorder, inequalities in access to substance use treatment within rural communities, and shifting attitudes towards substance use services in rural places. Brant serves as a Penn State Extension faculty member, where she puts research into practice to support people who use drugs and their families across Pennsylvania.
