D'Agostino's research focuses on women in public sector leadership and, gender equity. Overarching themes in her writings include women's career progression and gender bias. D'Agostino serves as the co-director of Women in the Public Sector at John Jay College and has recently initiated a project partnership with the New York City Gender Equity Commission.
