About Sara
Hughes’s research focuses on urban water and climate change policy and politics. Current projects examine financial, institutional, and political challenges to safe and sustainable urban water systems in the US, justice and equity in urban climate change policies, and water affordability. Hughes serves as a chapter lead author for the UNEP Global Environmental Outlook for Cities report, an advisory board member for the Environmental Politics and Governance workshop, and has previously contributed to global, national, and regional environmental and climate change synthesis reports. Her work has been funded by the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), Fulbright, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Michigan’s Poverty Solutions initiative.
