About Eric

Amerling's research focuses on the investigation of new solar cell absorber materials, specifically, how to tailor these materials to be very efficient, yet environmentally stable. Overarching themes in Amerling's writings include renewable energy, solar cells, and semiconductors. Amerling has been exploring topics in sustainability through University of Utah Graduate Certificate in Sustainability. This program has components in environmental ethics, justice, economics, and climate change science. By expanding the discussion to the social and humanitarian aspects of climate change, this program provides students with the tools to address many different aspects of sustainable and environmental progress.
