Forum on San Diego's Future: SSN Members Share Their Recommendations

About the chapter

San Diego SSN unites area scholars with expertise that focus on both the unique challenges facing San Diegans, as well as the concerns of Americans across the country. Our focus areas include diversity in politics and civil society, contributions and challenges of immigration, housing and homelessness, limits and possibilities of science education, and job creation in the high-tech economy. Other areas of interest include tax policy, corporate governance, the role of partisanship and expertise in American politics, and workforce equality. In addition to bringing scholars together, San Diego SSN fosters connections and collaborations between scholars and community partners to generate community-driven research on topics of national importance.

“As advocates, we decided that working directly with academics to help engage in the design of experiments, as well as the dissemination of critical information to decision-makers and communities was an obvious and necessary step to enacting crucial climate policies."
